Figure display-fit planner: shelf, base, and clearance

Check a figure against your shelf height, width, and depth. Compare the complete display footprint with your chosen clearance and two dimension diagrams.

A planning tool by Custom Figure Studio, a Luminary Studios service.

Compare the usable shelf interior with the complete figure, including the base, hair, weapons, and accessories. Choose extra handling clearance explicitly. This tool estimates dimensions; it does not determine shelf strength or safe assembly.

1. Usable display space

Measure the interior with the door closed. Exclude lights and other obstructions.

2. Entire assembled figure

Use the bounding dimensions of every included part, rather than the base alone.

3. Chosen clearance

The tool adds clearance once above the figure and on both sides of its width and depth. This is your chosen allowance, not a universal handling recommendation.

Check these before agreeing the build

  • Confirm which accessories detach and how the assembled piece passes through the cabinet opening.
  • Check the shelf manufacturer's load limit and the agreed finished weight.
  • Assess stability and how the figure can be handled without lifting by delicate parts.
  • Keep the studio's assembly and display instructions with the piece.

Do not shrink a model solely to make the rectangle fit. The physical details and joins also need assessment. Use the supplied-model checklist and scale chart to separate nominal character height from complete display dimensions.

Put the measurements in your brief

Include both the available space and the proposed complete figure size, with units. The studio can then review the pose, base, and finish together.
